A simple website that does a real job
A basic portfolio website is a small, professional site of a few pages: home, services or products, about, past work and contact. It is not a store or a web app. Its job is to show that your business is real and to make it easy for people to contact you.
For a new US LLC that job matters more than it looks. Banks and payment processors often review your website during onboarding. So do marketplace platforms, B2B clients and future employees. A missing or placeholder site slows all of those down.
Who this is for
- Founders who just formed a US LLC and need a site before applying for a bank account or payment gateway.
- Consultants, agencies and freelancers who need a portfolio to send to prospects.
- Small product businesses that want a brand page now and a store later.
- Companies whose current site is outdated, slow or built on a template that no longer matches the business.
What BookMyLLC handles
- A short discovery call to agree pages, structure and tone.
- A responsive design that works on phones first, then tablets and desktops.
- Page copy help, so your services and pricing model are described clearly.
- A contact form or booking link routed to your email.
- Basic on-page SEO: page titles, descriptions, headings and a sitemap.
- Connection to your domain and an SSL certificate so the site loads over HTTPS.
- Legal page placeholders such as privacy policy and terms, which you or your lawyer should finalise.
What a processor or bank looks for on your site
Reviewers are not judging design. They check that the site matches what you told them. That usually means:
- The legal company name and a way to contact you.
- A clear description of what you sell and who you sell to.
- Prices or a pricing model, where you sell products or fixed services.
- Refund, cancellation or delivery terms if you take payments online.
- A privacy policy if you collect personal data through forms.
We build those elements in from the start. Our guide to payment gateways for US LLCs explains why they matter for approval.
Basic SEO that comes with the build
A small site will not rank for competitive terms on its own, but it should not get in its own way. Every page gets a unique title and description, one clear main heading, readable URLs and image descriptions. We generate a sitemap and submit it to Google Search Console so your pages are discovered.
We also set up the basics that search engines and visitors both notice: fast loading, secure HTTPS, a layout that does not shift while loading, and a site that works without zooming on a phone. These are technical foundations, not a marketing campaign, and they make later SEO work far more effective.
What is not included
A portfolio site is intentionally small. It does not include an online store, user accounts, custom booking logic, integrations with your CRM or accounting system, or ongoing content writing. Those can be added later as separate projects.
It also does not include legal drafting. We add privacy policy and terms placeholders so the structure is there, but the final wording should reflect how you actually collect data and sell. If you sell to consumers in the US, the FTC's business guidance on advertising and marketing is a good starting point for what your claims must meet.
Step-by-step process
- Discovery. We agree the pages, your audience and two or three sites you like.
- Content. You send your logo, photos, service list and past work. We help shape the text.
- Design and build. We create the pages and share a preview link.
- Review. You request changes in writing, page by page.
- Launch. We connect your domain, enable HTTPS, submit the sitemap and hand over access.
What you need to provide
- Your company name exactly as registered, and your logo if you have one.
- A list of services or products and a short description of each.
- Examples of past work, client names you are allowed to show, or case studies.
- Contact email, phone number and business address to display.
- Access to your domain registrar, or a domain name you want to buy.
If you need a US number to publish on the site, see our US phone number service.
After launch
A site is only useful if it stays accurate. Add new projects to the portfolio as you finish them, update prices and service descriptions when they change, and check the contact form every few months so enquiries do not go missing. If you change your company address or phone number, update the site at the same time as your bank and state records.
Timeline
A small portfolio site is typically ready in one to three weeks. The biggest variable is content: sites move quickly when text and images arrive together, and slowly when they arrive page by page.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Launching with "coming soon" pages. Reviewers read an empty site as an unfinished business.
- Claims you cannot back up. Invented client logos or fake reviews can breach consumer protection rules and damage trust.
- A different company name on the site. Use your legal name or clearly link your brand name to it.
- No plan to update it. A portfolio with work from three years ago tells visitors you stopped trading.
When you outgrow a portfolio site, our digital marketing service can help you bring in traffic, and a custom software build can handle bookings, accounts or payments.
